It seems a lot of enhancements are hitting the iPhone. After the release of iPhone’s update 1.1.3 featuring easier interface now there is news that iPhone manufacturer, Apple is in talks with IBM to develop Lotus Notes for the device. The Lotus Notes is an e-mail application, which is now especially being developed for iPhone and iPod Touch.
This e-mail software is based on the IBM’s Domino e-mail server program. However, the iPhone is already equipped with web based e-mail service. But, IBM Lotus Notes promises to enhance the device’s appeal to the corporate market.
The Lotus Notes for iPhone and iPod is expected to be available free for Lotus web-access license users. But rest of the users will have to pay $39 annually for IBM’s e-mail software.
Up till now iPhone and iPod Touch were considered as devices for tech savvies. IBM’s Lotus Notes might change the scenario and professionals may also begin to prefer iPhone.
