Cheap tablets are in plenty in India, but not all of them offer decent features when you go below the Rs 5000 range. iBall’s Slide 6531-Q40, however, wants to be different and while it has nothing to write home about, the device is a good buy at Rs 4299 for those wanting a big-screen Android experience without breaking the bank.
According to the company’s director, Sandeep Parasrampuria, the tablet is capable of delivering a satisfying experience. Well, the iBall Slide 6531-Q40 does have the necessary hardware to honor this claim, albeit there’s no mention of voice calling onboard which is a bit disappointing. We were expecting at least 2G cellular support.
That downside can be easily overlooked and with Android 4.4 KitKat sitting at the driver’s seat, you’ll have access to some great Google features and the latest apps. And despite there being a 1.3GHz quad core processor doing the heavy lifting, just don’t expect the slate to run demanding games or resource-hungry applications as only 512MB of RAM is onboard.
The tablet falls in the 7-inch category and it offers a mere resolution of 800 x 480 pixels which you’ll normally find on 4-inch smartphones. This is the lowest resolution we’ve seen on a new tablet, but then again there’s not much you can offer at such a lot price point.
Here’s a roundup of the iBall Slide 6531-Q40’s key specifications:
