iBall’s Andi 4.5 series has just grown to accommodate another member, the Andi 4.5D Royale, which of course caters to the budget-friendly segment in India. The handset has gone on sale online, but is yet to be officially declared by the company. It can currently be purchased through Flipkart for Rs 8,499.
The iBall Andi 4.5D Royale, as its name suggests, falls in the 4.5-inch category. The handset offers qHD visuals which are pretty ok for its size and the panel employed here is of IPS type. Design-wise, the smartphone doesn’t look like its older siblings which include the 4.5 Ripple, 4.5z, 4.5q, 4.5P Glitter and 4.5H amongst others. This handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core Cortex A7-based processor and it tags along 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone also features dual SIM card slots with GSM support. Like most new MediaTek-powered smartphones, iBall Andi 4.5D Royale also runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the reason why we’re not seeing KitKat on the latest devices has something to do with the chip maker not offering sources for the update or OEMs don’t see it beneficial to put in more resources towards getting a new Android flavor to the affordable and soon to be forgotten smartphones.
