Hutch intros ‘Fun Cards’ in India, offers multiple caller tunes and Ring Tones

Hutch Logo On Thursday, Hutch India’s leading cellular service provider introduced Fun Cards, which are Scratch Cards that offer customers multiple caller tunes and ring tones.

Mr. Kumar Ramanathan, CEO, Hutchison Essar (Chennai and Tamil Nadu) told the Press that the concept of Hutch Fun Cards is similar to that of Prepaid cards.

Once a scratch card is purchased, you have to scratch the panel on the back of the card, and then SMS the 16 digit code on the card to 123. Voila! The content is now downloaded onto your phone.

Samuel Selvakumar, Operations Director, Hutch, said, “Hutch offers a variety of content to its customers through its voice and GPRS services, but many of our customers find it difficult to access this content because of its intangible form. Fun Cards have been conceptualized to provide Hutch customers the ease of choosing what they like after seeing what is available, like any other product available in the retail space. Fun Cards
will dramatically boost usage of VAS in smaller towns as it offers a simple SMS method to activate and enjoy the service.”

The cards bear content of Bollywood, International, Classics, Devotional and Regional hits. The fun cards are offered in three categories such as the three ringtones, the one caller tune and the caller tunes subscription and the caller tunes shuffle with a set of four caller tunes.

Each SMS to 123 costs Rs.2. And if the customer purchases a Fun Card with caller tunes, his/her account will be charged the normal rate for caller tunes after one month.
