Huawei Mulan might land up being the next Honor smartphone

The Huawei Mulan which is being rumored as the next flagship phone from the Chinese OEM could land up as part of the company’s Honor lineup. A new report has surfaced stating that the device will be the successor to the popular Honor 3C and 3X smartphones which have catered to the mid-range segment.

This information comes via Chinese website MyDrivers which has provided a good deal of accurate leaks in the past. The report notes that the Huawei Mulan moniker is part of the Honor series that’s also known as the Glory in some locations. This is highly possible considering that the company unveiled its newest flagship just a month back. Also, there’s word that the phone won’t have the Honor 4 branding, but will skip to 6 instead.

The reason for this has something to do with Chinese folk having a dislike to the number 4 since it’s considered unlucky. The same can be said for the number 5. The previous leak shows us an image (see above) of the phone’s side panels and was accompanied by a press render of another device (see below) with the Honor branding on the rear. It could be that the company is working on successors for both, the 3C and 3X smartphones.

Here are the leaked specs:

– Display: 4.9-inch 1080p panel
– RAM: 3GB
– Storage: 16GB internal
– SOC: Octa core Kirin 920
– Camera: 5.1MP front, 13MP rear

The Huawei Mulan is quite the high-end phone for the Honor series and if it does go official anytime soon, it’ll be much more powerful compared to the flagship Ascend P7.
