Huawei’s officially launched the third member of its flagship series in the form of the Mate 9 Lite. The handset is currently listed on the brand’s site without any availability or price details.
Going by its name and specifications, the Mate 9 Lite will likely be more affordable than its expensive brethren. It boasts of a decent collection of mid-range specs, topped off by its dual-camera system. The module is composed of a 12MP and 2MP combination.
This sets it apart from the original Mate 9 since that particular variant has a 12MP + 20MP combo stamped with Leica’s branding. The newer model is capable of using its shooters to capture bokeh and blur effects. The 12MP lens is further enhanced with a large 1.25μm pixel sensor for better night shots and 0.3 second PDAF.
Selfies are taken care of by an 8MP front-facing camera accompanied by a wide-angle lens, retouch software, and automatic facial recognition. Huawei’s also added couple of beauty filters and a panoramic selfie mode to further increase the unit’s appeal.
