HTC One X+ release date official, armed with quad core Tegra 3, NFC, 64GB storage

The HTC One X+ release date details have been unfurled by the company and it looks like potential buyers in Europe and North Asia will be the first to lay hands on the device. According to CEO Peter Chou, this handset will provide users with a rich browsing experience, a better camera compared to its predecessor and enhanced entertainment with Beats Audio.

Being the refreshed version of the company’s flagship One X smartphone, the One X+ has been making the rounds in the rumor mill for quite some time now. And now that the specifications are officially known, we can take a closer look at what this quad core smartphone has to offer. Speculations that hit the right spot include the Nvidia Tegra 3 AP37 processor which is clocked at 1.7GHz. Also fitted within dimensions of 134.36mm x 69.9mm x 8.9mm are 1GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 display with a 720p HD resolution and 64GB of integrated storage.

For avid photographers, the device incorporates an 8MP AF camera with LED flash and BSI sensor for low-light image capture. The snapper features an f2.0 aperture and 28mm lens coupled with a dedicated HTC ImageChip. The One X+ runs on Jelly Bean right out of the box and it employs the latest Sense 4+ UI which tags along various new features. With the new Tap and Go function users will be able to hook up and stream music wirelessly to Beats speakers’ by simply tapping the phone to the peripheral. The 2100mAh battery employed here is said to deliver 50% more talktime which amounts to an additional 6 hours. The handset will also be available in an LTE version proffering a 67% increase in speed compared to the LTE variant of the original One X.

The HTC One X+ launch for Europe and North Asia is set to fall in October, while potential users in South Asia will have to wait until November to lay hands on this quad core beast. Where the US is concerned, the company plans on announcing the smartphone’s availability details separately.
