HTC One X gets unleashed in Canada via Rogers

HTC One X Rogers

While potential users in the US patiently wait till May 6 to lay hands on the 4G LTE HTC One X smartphone, interested buyers in Canada can now order a unit via Rogers. The handset is said to be the first device in the latter country to come equipped with the Beats Audio enhancement.

The HTC One X headed to Rogers seems no different than the AT&T variant, in terms of specifications. Powering this offering is a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor which clocks in at 1.5GHz. The 4.7-inch HD Super LCD comes with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass and portrays a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Users will also be able to snap up images through the rear-facing 8MP f/2.0 BSI camera and even record videos in 1080p full HD.

“We’re excited to exclusively bring our customers the HTC One X and the premium mobile experience it brings as Canada’s first smartphone with Beats Audio and the first of the HTC One series,” commented Raj Doshi, Senior Vice President, Products, Rogers Communications. “Operating on Canada’s fastest and largest LTE network will allow customers a best-in-class audio and picture experience to upload images quickly, download albums and stream HD music videos, with virtually no delays or buffering.”

The Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS that’s coated with a layer of HTC Sense 4.0 runs the show, while the 1GB of DDR2 RAM provides better multitasking and the 1,800mAh battery juices up all components. The handset in question flaunts a polycarbonate unibody design and a lightweight form factor that’s sprayed with a piano and a matte back finish. With 16GB of on-board memory, users can store content online through the 25GB of free Dropbox capacity, for a period of 2 years.

The HTC One X price via Rogers amounts to $169.99 on select 3-year plans or $624.99 off-contract. The 4G LTE handset is now available for potential users in the Canada through the carrier’s website.
