Samsung and LG may have launched a number of smartwatches of their own, but HTC still hasn’t been bitten by this bug. Coming from a trustworthy source now is speculation that the Taiwanese company’s One smartwatch will be ready to hit shelves this February.
The HTC One gadget was in the rumor mills for a very long time last year, but the firm seemingly cancelled its plans at some point of time. However, its interest in releasing such a product seems to have sprung up once again, even as news about its existence has popped up now.
The ever so reliable @evleaks has said that February is when you can expect HTC to unveil it. That most probably means the company will be using the Mobile World Congress 2016 as the stage for unveiling it to the world.
Details about this device are still not at hand, but we’re guessing that Android Wear will likely be the platform it will be adopting. As for the form factor, it’s again likely to go with the trend of circular displays. Various customization options are also expected to form part of its offerings.
The smartwatch market is booming quite well right now, which has off late been more evident than ever. Apple’s entry into it by means of its Watch products has really fuelled its growth. The Cupertino-based company will apparently be selling as many as 6 million units of the device during the last three months of this year.
As you can see, details regarding the HTC One smartwatch are quite slim at the moment. We’ll have more on it when additional information is available.
