As suggested by previous rumors, the HTC One M8 Eye has been officially launched for the Indian market carrying a price tag of Rs 38990, making it slightly cheaper than the original flagship. What’s more, the device has already been put up for grabs in the country, but there’s no word on which color options will be available.
The HTC One M8 Eye is essentially the flagship smartphone with just one modification. The company has decided to drop the 4MP UltraPixel sensor which has declined in popularity, in favor of a 13MP rear camera. The new snapper has been incorporated into the Duo Camera setup and the main purpose for the change is to deliver high resolution images with depth sensing technology.
Additionally, the handset comes preloaded with the Eye Experience software suite that’s also being seeded to the original flagship and other devices in the series. So you basically get the same 5MP front camera, 5-inch 1080p LCD display and Boom Sound speakers out of the box.
The device runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Sense 6 and it should receive an update to Android L in a few months from now. And like the original, this model also offers 4G LTE connectivity in India.
