HTC One E8 and Desire 616 get green cards for India

As expected, HTC India took the wraps off two new phones today, the One E8 and the Desire 616, both of which are highly attractive devices. The former phone is part of the flagship series and it’s being touted as a cheaper, yet fashionable version of the M8 handset, while the latter phone is the company’s first to run on an octa core processor.

The HTC One E8 made headlines for months before it was launched. Priced at Rs 34900, the phone packs the same high-end hardware found on the One M8 with a polycarbonate construction that’s designed to look quite similar to last year’s flagship. The handset is also said to be comfortable to hold owing to its dual curve design.

Being created specifically for Asian countries, it comes with dual SIM support and packs a 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 chipset along with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot. Additionally, there’s a 5MP front shooter and instead of the Dua Camera setup, this one sports a single 13MP lens. On the upside, the same 5-inch 1080p display and dual BoomSound speakers can be found on the front.
