HTC One Android 4.3 update for India doesn’t cover dual SIM version of the phone

The HTC One Android 4.3 update is now out for users in India who’ve been itching to get the software on their phones. Packed along with the upgraded version of Jelly Bean the HTC Sense 5.5 interface, of course. The one thing the company left out from its tweet but made clear on its Facebook post is that those with dual SIM variants will have to wait indefinitely for the software refresh. Also, this roll-out only covers 3G capable One devices.

The Android-specific changes should bring in OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics muscle for mobile gaming buffs, virtual surround sound mode, auto-complete for numbers being punched into the dial pad, Bluetooth Smart (4.0 LE), additional language support and so on.

HTC Sense 5.5 ushers in BlinkFeed home screen updates, Zoe, Sense TV, Video Highlights, Quick Settings and more. Zoe is the camera enhancement which captures images about a second before the shutter is pressed. Users also get up to 40GB cloud storage space courtesy of Google Drive.

How to download HTC One Android 4.3 update

Those who’d like to avail of the software upgrade should go to Settings in the HTC One. From here onwards the trail runs – About>Software Updates>Check now. Make sure you’re connected over 3G or Wi-Fi before you give up and call it a dud.

If your network connection is slow or your data plan costly, it would be a good idea to check the ‘Update over Wi-Fi only’ box whenever you’re within a hotspot. Thinking of buying the handset? You might want to read our review of it first.
