HTC Ocean Note will show no love for the headphone jack

HTC Ocean Note, one among the three Ocean-branded smartphones ready to be unveiled by the company soon, is being said to have ditched the headphone jack. It will instead opt for USB Type-C earphones since its charging pin will also be of the same standard.

Apart from the Ocean Note, the other two HTC devices that form the trio are the Ocean Master and the Ocean Smart. But it seems both these devices are being spared from the headphone removal, with the Note model being the only one taking the bullet.

As pointed out by GSM Arena, this news comes via the Taiwanese website ePrice which has also revealed some more details about this upcoming smartphone. It will apparently feature a dual edged display, just like the one on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Since there’s ‘Note’ involved in its branding, we are guessing it to be sized at or above 5.5 inches.

It’s also being speculated that the HTC Ocean Note will kick in a highly sophisticated camera. How sophisticated you ask? They say it’s going to boast of the highest DxOMark rating yet. This title is currently being held by the Google Pixel which we know has a mind-blowing camera by the way. Watch our review to know more.

Back to the point; something that sounds quite odd is the speculation that this handset will be powered by a MediaTek processor rather than a Qualcomm one. In case you’re wondering when to expect these HTC Ocean devices to be unveiled, January 12th is the best guess since the company is holding an event on the same date.
