The HTC J smartphone has been officially unveiled in Hong Kong tagging along support for CDMA and WiMAX networks. This Android 4.0 device is said to ‘inherit’ various aspects of the One series including its camera capabilities and rich audio features.
The device is dressed in a simple candy bar form factor with curved edges, measuring 66mm × 132mm x 10mm in dimensions. A 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen is equipped to the front for visuals and navigation, while the innards comprise of a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 MSM8660A processor and 1GB of RAM amongst others. Users will have 16GB of internal storage at their disposal along with a microSD card slot supporting 32GB of memory.
Terry Chung, Country Manager of HTC, Hong Kong and Macau, states, “With the exceptional quality design, the outstanding look and feel, the Amazing Camera and Authentic Sound features of HTC J, users can now enjoy the ultimate photo, image, and sound experience.”
Coming to the camera, the company has thrown in its very own ImageChip combined with an f/2.0 lens for snapping up stills. The 8MP sensor allows users to click images in low-light conditions. With the Video Pic attribute that’s integrated into the Sense 4 UI, pictures and videos can be captured simultaneously. For a rich sound experience, the Beats Audio enhancement has earned a place in this device as well.
The HTC J price and release date for Hong Kong haven’t been given an official mention as yet. When launched, the handset can be picked up in 3 color choices, namely black, white and red.
