HTC India could launch One E8, M8 Dual and Desire 616 on July 11

HTC India has started sending out invites for an event this Friday where it plans to launch new devices. The invitation doesn’t make any mention of which phones are going to be announced, but everyone’s speculating about the possibility of seeing the One M8 Dual, One E8 and Desire 616 go official.

The invite reads ‘trends change, style remains’ and is filled with colorful images. The company is clearly hinting at fashionable phones and the HTC One E8 as well as the Desire 616 clearly fit the bill. The One M8 Dual can also be considered as part of this category and its arrival is highly anticipated in India. The phone is no different from the original expect for an additional SIM card slot which should be hidden beneath the rear panel.

The One E8, on the other hand, has almost the same features as the current flagship, but with a plastic form factor. The device still looks very attractive even with a polycarbonate design, but it drops the Duo Camera setup in favor of a 13MP rear snapper. The front continues to flaunt the same 5-inch 1080p display, dual BoomSound speakers and 5MP camera.

On the inside, the processor has been given a slight speed boost through a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 chip which is accompanied by 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a microSD card slot, dual SIM support and a 2600mAh battery. The phone also offers Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and all of the said features at a much cheaper price. Then there’s the Desire 616 that recently went official as the company’s first octa core phone. It’s affordably priced as well, selling for just $240.
