With the HTC Desire XC ever so stealthily reserving a spot for itself on Snapdeal for a price in India of Rs 16,499, we can only wonder how many other low-budget smartphones from the company’s foundries have set out to land in the subcontinent. As seen in most devices from the wallet-friendly category in the country, this affordable handset by HTC nabs dual SIM ports and doesn’t forget to tag along some decent features.
Clearly, we can point out very few of the HTC Desire XC attributes that differ from those of the U and the XDS which were spotted with online retailers in a similar fashion this month itself. To begin with, the most recent handset has also been built around a 4-inch Super LCD display of WVGA resolution and settles for a scoopful of Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The HTC Desire XC tilts more in the direction of the XDS when it comes to the onboard processor. Although the chipsets of all three are clocked at 1GHz, that of the U smartphone doesn’t house dual cores like the other devices. Continuing on the topic of similarities, a 5MP camera has been positioned on the rear of each. Sadly, none of the gadgets come with a webcam.
Snapdeal has pinpointed that 4GB of internal storage space has been made available, but nothing has been mentioned pertaining to expandability. Judging by the fact that the ports embedded on the U and the XDS are compatible with microSD cards of up to 32GB capacity, we’ll assume that the device permits similar options. As far as system memory is concerned, the handset packs 768MB of RAM.
The Desire XC can be found with no other e-retailer, but Snapdeal and it is already up for grabs in colors like black and white.
