HTC has introduced another affordable contender dubbed Desire L, which is all set to go up for sale in Taiwan. It has made an appearance less than a month after its siblings P and Q showed up in the home country. Besides the standard black and white hues, the mid-range device in question will come dressed in a vibrant pink-colored garb too.
Engadget, who stumbled upon the phone, believes that it is nothing, but a version of the One SU which was released in China. This smartphone refrains from dragging along any high-end feature, but comes across as a decent entry-level device that will not dig a deep hole in users’ pockets. Measuring 128 x 66.9 x 8.9 millimeters, it weighs in at a mere 118 grams.
The handset’s front panel is graced by a Super LCD2 WVGA screen which offers a multi-touch real estate of 4.3 inches and renders clear visuals in 800 x 480p resolution. A dual core chipset clocking in a processing speed of 1GHz rests under the hood and works towards maintaining smooth working, even when launching more than one application at the same time.
There’s 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and an option to increase the memory by inserting a microSD card in a dedicated expansion slot on the chassis. The official company page confirms that it runs the Android platform and needless to say that the OS will be garnished by the OEM’s proprietary Sense UI. The handset is compatible with micro SIM cards and can run on mobile networks such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and HSPA.
Moreover, the GPS-enabled phone extends support to Wi-Fi hotpots as well and pairs up with compatible gadgets via Bluetooth. Its connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB port. Complete with Beats Audio, it is equipped with a 5MP camera with attributes like LED flash, auto focus, BSI sensor, video recording capability and much more.
Availability details of the HTC Desire L are under wraps for now.
