Along with the flagship One M8, HTC also disclosed that the new Desire 816 and Desire 210 Dual SIM smartphones will be arriving in India soon. While the flagship is tagged just under Rs 50,000, the latest smartphones carry affordable price tags of Rs 23,990 and Rs 8,700, respectively.
Let’s start off with the HTC Desire 210. This smartphone is basically new and hasn’t been launched elsewhere as far as we know. The phone is an entry-level option with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and low-end specs which include a 1.2GHz dual core MediaTek processor and 512MB of RAM. The handset has a 4-inch display with WVGA resolution and a 5MP rear camera. What’s interesting about it is that it has one mini (regular) SIM slot and the other a micro SIM housing, both supporting GSM networks.
Coming to the HTC Desire 816, it went official at the MWC 2014 along with the 610. The device is 4G LTE capable, but there’s no word on whether the high speed data connectivity will be available in India. The smartphone brings a fresh design to the Desire series with a clean and minimalistic look. The smartphone will compete against the Xperia T2 Ultra and the Lumia 1320 amongst others as it falls in the phablet category with a 5.5-inch HD display. You’ll also find BoomSound speakers and other high-end features on this device.
