HTC is still to make an official announcement, but a Mumbai-based retailer has jumped the gun and revealed that the company’s Desire 728 handset is all set to be released in India soon. The device, which was launched in China this September, will apparently be sold in the country at Rs 17990.
The HTC Desire 728 happens to be a mid-range offering, but judging by its specs, it is bound to find itself struggling in the Indian market. That’s because a number of other handsets like the newly unveiled OnePlus X Onyx and the already available Xiaomi Mi 4i and even the Mi 4 come with slightly internal components and cheaper price tags.
The Desire 728 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display which is able to showcase its visuals in 720p HD resolution. A 1.3GHz octa core MediaTek MT6753 processor lies at its heart, and is assisted in its operations by 2GB worth of RAM. There’s 16GB worth of storage onboard as well, which can be expanded up to a whopping 2TB by means of its microSD card slot.
The camera setup on this HTC smartphone includes a 13MP rear snapper and a 5MP front one. Powering all its innards is a 2800mAh battery which sits inside its 7.8mm thin body.
Here’s a neat look at the specs of the HTC Desire 728:
