A few days back, we received new information on the design and availability of the HTC B2 (Butterfly 2). Today, the first press render of the smartphone has made its way online showcasing the device’s front panel.
The press image, which can be found below, was published by EvLeaks. By the looks of it, the device is quite similar to the Butterfly S handset, but with various tweaks in the design. Firstly, the speakers on the top and bottom have a reworked grille design and the edges have subtle curves unlike the previous model. You’ll also notice that there are no capacitive touch keys on the HTC B2 since the Taiwanese OEM has made the shift to virtual on-screen buttons.
The overall form factor is without a doubt made from polycarbonate. Also, the handset will come in glossy shades with red being the only known one so far. Where specs are concerned, the HTC B2 will have features similar to what the current M8 flagship sports. You can expect a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 SOC with Adreno 330 graphics and a 5MP front camera. The UltraPixel sensor isn’t likely to be onboard as a 13MP camera is amongst the rumored specs.
We expect to see the HTC B2 or Butterfly 2 go official by the end of this month or sometime in June. As per a previous leak, the phone will go on sale in Asian markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan amongst others.
