HTC appears to be testing a new high-end phone which meets the standards of today’s flagships. A new device which goes by the model number 0PAJ3 has been spotted in a benchmark and since the company only has two top-tier brands, it’s safe to assume that this handset will be the next Butterfly smartphone.
AnTuTu spotted the HTC 0PAJ3 in its database and based on the information provided, the smartphone looks to be as powerful as the new HTC One M8 flagship. It also shares the same hardware components expect for a few modifications. Firstly, the device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and it gains steam from a quad core Snapdragon 801 SOC clocked at 2.3GHz with Adreno 330 graphics.
The HTC 0PAJ3 is said to have a 1080p display, but there’s no word on the screen size as yet. Also, the company has gone with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. If this device is really the Butterfly 2, it won’t have the UltraPixel camera like the current model, but a 13MP sensor on the rear. Also, there’s a 5MP snapper present on the front.
The HTC 0PAJ3 appears to be a test device and the final product could have modified specifications. We’re still to confirm whether this device is really the next Butterfly smartphone or of an unannounced series. Since the display size hasn’t been mentioned, we could also be looking at the company’s upcoming tablet. It’s a crazy suggestion, but very much possible.
