Following the launch of Intel’s latest mobile platform, “Santa Rosa”, you can definitely expect to see a slew of brand new laptops hitting the market. For starters, HP has announced a new notebook product called HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Series Notebook PC. This notebook, which falls under the “Dragon” name, features some really awesome specifications.
The HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Series Notebook PC features a larger-than-life 20.1-inch WSXGA+ Ultra BrightView (1680×1250) widescreen display that tilts. It also features 4 Altec Lansing speakers with built-in HP Triple Bass Reflex subwoofer. So the audio performance of this notebook is much better than most notebooks out there.
The HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Series laptops comes loaded with a HD DVD-ROM drive and HDMI port built-in meant especially for all you gamers out there.
Weighing a hefty 15.5 pounds, the HP Pavilion HDX Enteratinment Series laptop is an all-in –one entertainment center.
Glossy finishes abound on the HDX, including the new “Dragon Imprint” finish. A row of touch-sensitive QuickPlay buttons run across the top of the keyboard.
What’s more, the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Series Notebook PCs features the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT, which supports DirectX 10.
And that is not all. HP has sent in word that they will be loading the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Series Notebook PC with HP HDTV Hybrid TV tuner along with a HP Mobile Remote. These laptops will also have 4GB DDR2 RAM, 400GB Hard Drive coupled with the Intel 4965AGN wireless chip.
This “Dragon” of a notebook PC will come preinstalled with the Windows Vista Ultimate operating system 64 bit.
According to Kevin Wentzel, an HP product manager, “For a student in a dorm room, it’s great. It’s their TV, it’s their video recorder, it’s their DVD player, it’s their computer. They’ve got all of that built into one unit and when they of on break- close it up and take it along with them.”
