LaCie CloudBox hybrid storage solution backs up content to the cloud

Apparently, the idea of storing every bit of content only to a drive sounds old fashioned already. Apart from the hard drives borne out of collaboration with Porsche Design, those in need of hoarding options are also being tempted with the LaCie CloudBox hybrid storage solution.

The drive claims to be outfitted with double protection owing to the fact that data is backed up on it and also to the cloud. So even if users do happen to get estranged from their files and folders due to damage to the hardware or theft, copies of the content which was stowed away on it is also available online.

Local backup through a PC or Mac to the drive allows quick access and restoration in case of PC failure. The LaCie CloudBox then sends a copy of the files to the cloud on a daily basis. This also means that such content is accessible from just about anywhere, though it does remains protected with AES data encryption.

One factor of convenience is the drive’s ability to perform the online backup without needing to be attached to a laptop. The LaCie CloudBox is out a 100GB capacity and cover a one-year online backup agreement for 100GB, the last being renewable. It is available through LaCie sales channels for $199.99 and more.
