Sierra Wireless recently got the wraps off a new compact and stylish modem dubbed as the Sierra Wireless USB 598 modem which will be available through Sprint’s mobile broadband network. Adorning a fashionable form factor, the novel modem delivers expandable storage in a very simple and easy-to-use set up.
A convenient mobile solution, the USB 598U modem will enable customers to effortlessly access their documents and files whether its emails or online applications. Offering backward compatibility with the EV-DO Rev.0 and 1xRTT technology, the modem has been optimized for use on Sprint’s network. The device supports download speeds of about 600 kbps to 1.4 mbps along with average upload speeds in the range of 350 kbps to 500 kbps.

Other features of the USB 598U modem include instant online access, advanced GPS support with simultaneous access to navigation and location applications, microSD card slot expandable up to 32 GB and Sprint’s SmartViewSM automatic installation software that can be availed by both Mac and PC users. The software allows quick and hands-free activation of the modem.
The modem is available now for a price of around $250.
