Video game maker Activision has announced that the date of availability for the much-awaited music video game ‘Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock’. The game will be available in US stores from October 28, 2007 onwards.
Activision’s ‘Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock’ is the latest installment in the hugely popular music video game franchise “Guitar Hero”. Now, this game will be available for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii platforms.
It is already known that over 3,000 US retail stores will be hosting they own midnight launch events in the US. This is sure to add to the hype.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be offer gamers several new modes including a multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, boss battles, unlockable content, original artists’ recordings, authentic rock venues and an online multiplayer mode that allows global players to compete head-to-head.
Moreover, for the first time ever, the music video game will feature new wireless guitars based on Gibson Guitar’s Les Paul mode for the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. PS2 gamers will get a new wireless guitar from Kramer.
Further, in order to give gamers a totally rocking experience, Activision has also bundled the above mentioned wireless guitars with removable face plates, allowing fans to personalize their guitars. Also new is a novel button color design that has been integrated for an even greater authentic feel.
Nevesoft is the developer of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii consoles, whereas Redoctane is the publisher and Activision is the distributor of the game.
According to Dustly Welsh, head of publishing for Activision/RedOctane, “Where there is music this holiday season, there is Guitar Hero, and we’re excited to deliver Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock as the ultimate guitar-bending experience for our fans.”
“With an amazing set list, added gameplay features, online functionality and new wireless guitars, aspiring rock stars are going to shred harder than ever before,” Welsh added.
It was reported earlier that Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock would come embedded with over 70 famous songs including tracks from Guns ‘n’ Roses, Alice Cooper, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, KISS, Moses amongst others.
Also reported earlier was the fact that the game would be available not only for next-generation consoles and the PS2, but also for PC and Mac platforms. Last month, Aspyr had announced its partnership with Activision and RedOctane to bring Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock to the PC and Mac.
The PC and Mac version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is expected to be available on November 12, 2007.
