The price and release date details for the GTA Vice City Android and iOS versions are amidst us and based on what Rockstar Games has disclosed, the title will be available by the first week of December. And for those concerned whether the release will be compatible with their device, the developer has listed out currently supported phones and tablets.
This 10th Anniversary Edition game will feature the ‘full experience.’ This means players can expect visuals and gameplay highly similar to the original console and PC versions. It will comes with high-resolution graphics natively supported by both platforms and also various enhancements that are said to be unique for each OS. These additions are likely to augment the entire experience on a mobile device.
They will offer updated character models, lighting effects, improved precision for firing and new targeting options in addition to on-screen controls that are fully customizable. The company has even mentioned that the game will arrive with support for Retina displays. A full list of confirmed iOS-powered hardware includes the iPad, iPhone 4, 4S and 5 as well as iPod touch 4th and 5th generations. However, we’re not sure which versions of the platform will hold compatibility for the title.
Where Android is concerned, here’s a roster of supported phones – From Motorola’s stable, the entire Razr series, the Atrix, the Photon and the Droid Bionic have made it to the list. HTC handset such as the Rezound, the One X, the One S, the Evo 3D, the Sensation and the Droid Incredible 2 are compatible with the mobile version of GTA Vice City along with the Xperia Play S, the Xperia P, the Xperia T and TL as well as the Walkman Z Series Media Player.
Other phones include the Galaxy S2, the Galaxy S3 and the Nexus 4. Moving on to the tablet segment, the Acer Iconia, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Transformer Prime, the LG Optimus Pad, the Motorola Xoom, various Galaxy Tabs and the Galaxy Note 10.1 as well as the Sony Tablet S, the Tablet P, the Toshiba Thrive, and both Google Nexus slates are compatible with the release.
The GTA Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition will be downloadable on Android and iOS devices starting December 6, 2012. Both versions will go up for grabs via Google Play and the App Store, respectively, for $4.99. The developer states that more updates are slated to arise in the coming weeks along with a new trailer and limited Vice City anniversary-themed collectibles that will be available via the Rockstar Warehouse.
