GTA: San Andreas drives into Windows Phone Store following iOS and Android releases

Rockstar Games’ open world homage to the 1990s California lifestyle, GTA: San Andreas has completed its mobile rollout, and is now available for Windows Phone devices as well, apart from iOS and Android. Priced at $6.99, it officially supports very few WP gadgets at the moment.

GTA: San Andreas was first released back in 2004 for the PS2, following which it made its way to a number of other platforms. This game proved to be immensely popular, despite its controversial offerings. The tells the story of a protagonist who’s trying to come to terms with a life that forces him into gang wars, clashes with corrupt cops and more, all against the backdrop of a fun-filled sandbox gameplay model which Rockstar Games is known for.

In terms of graphics, a few improvements have been granted to the mobile versions. GTA: San Andreas for iOS, Android and Windows Phone features remastered, high-resolution graphics that produce better lighting, enhanced colors and improved character models. Tailored for touchscreens, its controls can be chosen from three schemes.

This Windows Phone version of GTA: San Andreas is said to be compatible only with Nokia Lumia 1520, 1320, 822, 820 and 810 devices and the HTC 8XT, however, there are reports that any Windows Phone handset with 1GB worth of RAM is able to support the game. This title requires a 2.5GB download which of course needs Wi-Fi access.

Those WP users who’re interested in the game can head on over the Windows Phone Store to download their copies of GTA: San Andreas in exchange of $6.99.
