GSP-1700, the World’s Smallest Satellite Phone unveiled by GlobalStar

On Thursday, Globalstar launched GSP-1700, the world’s smallest, lightest handset for use on a global satellite network.

GSP-1700 satellite phone is being manufactured by Qualcomm and will operate in more than 120 countries and six continents around the world. The GSP-1700 GlobalStar satellite phone weighs 7.1 ounces or 203 grams, almost half the weight of the current satellite phone models and is close to 45 percent smaller than Globalstar’s other satellite phones. The height is 135 mm, the width is 55 mm and the thickness is 37 mm. The lithium-ion battery of GSP-1700 phone is designed to offer users with four hours of talk time and 36 hours of standby time, which is better than some traditional cellphones.

GSP-1700 satellite phone is an extremely handy device due to its small size and its instant connectivity in almost any condition and anywhere.
