When we think of luxury smartphones, the first thing that comes to mind is Vertu, but it isn’t the only player in this category. Gresso has revealed its latest Android handset called the Regal and it has dressed it to impress with a full titanium Grade 5 design.
According to the company, there will be a limited quantity of devices and each of them will be numbered differently, up to 999. The Gresso Regal is assembled entirely by hand and it offers a minimalistic design, whilst maintaining a luxury look. A lot of work is put into creating the smartphone.
It takes around 3 hours for polishing the back panel to obtain the desired texture and 2 hours to machine and shine the company’s logo which is also crafted from titanium. The smartphone is said to be the thinnest in the luxury market, having an 8.8mm thick design. However, it’s heavier that what you’d expect at 205 grams.
The phone is Android powered, but an older version of the OS, 4.2.1. Then there’s a 1.5GHz quad core processor doing the heavy lifting and the company is keeping mum about the exact make and model of the chipset.
