The latest update to Google Search for Android has been rolled out for previous versions of the Google OS which arrived before we got a taste of its Ice Cream Sandwich platform. This new version of the Google Search app claims to bring in smoother and faster performance as compared to its predecessors.
A post on the official Google Mobile blog shares that this version of Search for Android offers a simplified and an updated interface. The suggestions to search will now be grouped by type along with web suggestions which should be displayed at the top. Users should be able to remove history items by a long press and they will also be able to enjoy search results that are country specific. The above mentioned developments are some of the noteworthy additions that the new version of the Search comes endowed with.
Thanks to the app, users on the go will have phone search results along with the suggestions of web sites and results from the internet at their disposal. The update also brings with it a new color scheme besides the enhanced UI. Additionally, the Google Search widget can be added to the homescreen to gain instant access. Android owners can also receive suggestions from other apps on their device by paying a visit to the searchable items within the Search settings on their mobile device.
Google Search for Android can now be downloaded from the Android Market for devices running v2.2, v2.3 or v3.x of the OS.
