The launch of a new Google weather card in search results was being speculated since a few weeks, but the company has now announced it officially. At first glance you’ll of course notice that it’s a lot colorful than before, but there’s more to it than just that.
When you ask Google for weather information with queries like ‘weather,’ ‘will it rain today?’ or ‘what’s the weather like’ you are now treated to a new card that has plenty of details for you to observe. It will not only offer you the basic temperature of your desired location, but also the hourly sky conditions and chance of rain.
The new Google search card doesn’t just stop at that, as it also provides you with severe weather alerts, a detailed 10-day forecast, information on air quality, UV index, sunrise and sunset times and more. It has been mentioned by its makers that by tapping on the weather result, you can even save your favorite locations by searching for a new location and selecting ‘Add.’

Once that’s done, you will soon begin seeing that particular location in the drop-down menu in search. And then there’s the new design which is grabbing everyone’s attention. This card changes its background based on the time of the day as well as the weather conditions. Same logic also applies to the visuals which revolve around the cartoon of a little frog.
Just some time ago, this particular card was appearing for us in your Google search results, but it isn’t now. We guess that the rollout will take time to reach all devices.
