The Google Pixel 3 XL got leaked last month in the form of a couple of hands-on photos. The handset’s now back in a set of fresh images depicting the phone in a Clearly White color variant.
Like before, the live snaps originated from the XDA Developer forums. The earlier set featured a Pixel 3 XL with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM. The new one packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. The bootloader page indicates that this is an EVT 1.0 unit (Engineering Validation Test), just like the earlier leak.
Google Pixel 3 XL Design
Google has probably progressed beyond this prototype by now, so it’s possible the company has made design changes which can’t be seen here. Still, the broad brush strokes are probably going to stick around. For instance, the notch at the top is likely to be a prominent feature.
Strangely enough, it seems like Google is sticking to a thick bezel at the bottom. Smartphone makers usually introduce a notch design to bestow a border-free look to their handset, but the search giant appears to be fighting against this trend. Maybe it came to the conclusion that having a dual speaker system was more important than having more display.

Another aspect which may raise eyebrows is the Pixel 3 XL’s single camera at the back. Most flagship handsets have moved on to dual and even triple lens systems, so Google’s insistence on only one snapper is interesting. Perhaps it hasn’t found any use in having an extra lens handy.
According to the tipster behind the photos, the rear of the Pixel 3 XL is totally glass, with the top being glossy and the bottom being matte. He didn’t know anything about wireless charging support though. A Pixel Stand device recently came out in the open, hinting that Google might be working on a wireless charging dock with Google Assistant support.
