Google Nexus 4 goes amazingly cheap, get 8GB model for $199 and 16GB for $249

A $100 price cut now means that the Google Nexus 4 will be yours for $199 if you wish to purchase it. No reason has been cited by Google for this big drop in its retail value, but the search giant has however confirmed that it is applicable only for Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, the US and UK. Could this be an indication that the launch of its successor is fast approaching? With almost one year down after the Nexus 4’s release, the next phone in the series is indeed due and so is a successor to Google’s 10-inch tablet.

Like we said, the 8GB Nexus 4 is being offered through the Play store in the above mentioned countries at $199 (£159) rather than its earlier price of $299 (£239). As for its 16GB model, its retail value has jumped down to $249 (£199) from $349 (£279). This price drop was announced by Google itself today by means of a tweet. The stock Android device, the features of which far exceed the price point it has been set at, came across as quite a desirable option when we reviewed it recently.

It features on its front a 4.7-inch IPS display that’s covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. This LG-manufactured product throws its visuals out with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, and it even kicks in an 8MP camera for image clicking and HD video recording.

The stock version of Android 4.2.2 is infused into it, but owners should easily be able to upgrade it to 4.3. Running the show in its interiors is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU which is complemented by 2GB worth of RAM. And apart from these, a number of other essentials like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, unlocked connectivity also make their way into the Google Nexus 4.
