Google has finally brought the second-generation Chromecast and all-new Chromecast Audio dongle to India, more than half a year after the two were launched internationally. The streaming devices are both priced at Rs 3399 and can be purchased via various offline and online retailers including Croma, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Reliance.
Google is looking to appeal to consumers by offering the Chromecast and Chromecast Audio dongle with a free subscription to Saavn Pro and Hooq for 6 months. The former sports a new design which apparently allows it to fit into TVs better without any assistance from adapters or extension cables. This could prove to be useful in cases where the HDMI port is very crowded.
The second-gen Chromecast also boasts of better connectivity capabilities since it now supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fiac networks. The media streaming gadget additionally offers an adaptive antenna system which consists of 3 distinct antennas to make sure the consumer gets the most suitable radio frequency based on the Wi-Fi environment.
The Google product now has the ability to mirror any tab open in a Chrome browser and cast it to a TV. It’s available in more colors than before, with consumer getting to choose between red, black and yellow.
