The less expensive among the two new Nexus handsets has gone even cheaper now. The 5X model can be found selling in the United States in exchange of $349 (down from $379) for its 16GB variant. As for the 32GB model, it can be bought at $399 (down from $429).
This price drop applies only for purchases through the Google Store at the moment. But we’re expecting other retailers from the country to follow suit soon. The reduced retail values somewhat match the lowered prices at which the Nexus 5X has been selling in India since November 2015.
Accompanied by the Nexus 6P, the 5X made its debut late last September as a successor to the fan-favorite Nexus 5 handset from 2013. It adopts a 5.2-inch display and keeps the resolution at 1080p full HD. Google and LG have outfitted it with a Snapdragon 808 chipset which offers 4G support, a hexa core processor and an Adreno 418 GPU.
A neat look at the main specs of the Nexus 5X:
– Display: 5.2-inch IPS LCD, 1080p (423ppi)
– OS: Android 6.0 Marshmallow (upgradable)
– CPU: 1.8GHz hexa core Snapdragon 808
– GPU: Adreno 418
– Memory: 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage space
– Cameras: 12.3MP rear, 5MP front
– Battery: 2700mAh
– Weight: 136gm
– Dimensions: 147 x 72.6 x 7.9mm
– Connectivity: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS), NFC, USB Type-C
The Nexus 5X boasts of a 12.3MP rear camera which excels in capturing photos and videos, as we’ve observed in our review of the phone. A 5MP front camera and a 2700mAh battery are its other major highlights.

Like we said, the Nexus 5X price drop applies only to the Google Store for now, but we’re sure other retailers in the US will start offering the device at its lowered rates in the weeks to come.
