Rumors had already told us that the fresh Nexus smartphones as well as an updated Chromecast dongle are to be unveiled by Google on September 29, and we finally have confirmation on that. Mountain View has issued press invites for an event that is to be held on the said date in San Francisco.
‘Join us for some tasty new treats and much s’more’ is what the invite in question tells us (via Android Police). The ‘tasty new treats’ are definitely the new Nexus handsets which will be made by LG and Huawei, whereas the ‘much s’more’ part is most probably referring to the new Chromecast and who knows what!
We have learned from past leaks a number of important details about this year’s Android flagship devices. They are expected to ship with fingerprint scanners as well as USB Type-C connectors.
The one made by LG will apparently features a 5.2-inch 1080p full HD screen and a 2700mAh battery. It’s supposed to run with the help of a hexa core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB worth of RAM and an Adreno 418 GPU. The device is most likely to grab a 12.3MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper.
Huawei’s Nexus phone on the other hand, will be a high-end affair, complete with a 5.7-inch Quad HD monitor and an octa core Snapdragon 810 processor. It’s expected to feature 3GB worth of RAM and 32GB worth of storage space. While its rear camera may be a 12.3MP unit, its front one is expected to go with a 5MP sensor.
