Google announces event on September 29, expect Nexus phones and a new Chromecast

Rumors had already told us that the fresh Nexus smartphones as well as an updated Chromecast dongle are to be unveiled by Google on September 29, and we finally have confirmation on that. Mountain View has issued press invites for an event that is to be held on the said date in San Francisco.

‘Join us for some tasty new treats and much s’more’ is what the invite in question tells us (via Android Police). The ‘tasty new treats’ are definitely the new Nexus handsets which will be made by LG and Huawei, whereas the ‘much s’more’ part is most probably referring to the new Chromecast and who knows what!

We have learned from past leaks a number of important details about this year’s Android flagship devices. They are expected to ship with fingerprint scanners as well as USB Type-C connectors.
