Glu and SPTI collaborate for the distribution of mobile games

GLU SPTI Logos Glu Mobile a renowned publisher of mobile games has collaborated with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). They are bonded with a strategic agreement that will allow Glu to be the distributor of some mobile games by SPTI.

Glu will distribute the already existing as well as some new mobile games on behalf of Sony Pictures Television International to countries like Europe, Latin America, Africa, Canada, Australia and the Middle East.

Mike Wald, senior vice president, pay television and new media distribution, SPTI said “This agreement with Glu is strategically important to us as we build our digital distribution business. Mobile content, including mobile games, is a core part of our business and we’re delighted to leverage Glu’s distribution expertise to extend the reach of our titles to mobile carriers around the world.”

Greg Ballard, president and chief executive officer, Glu. said “We’re proud to partner with SPTI on this extensive distribution deal,” and added “SPTI offers world class brands and top-quality mobile games. This partnership gives SPTI the global reach that its properties deserve and solidifies Glu’s position as the independent partner of choice for companies with global IP.”

After this agreement, the first mobile game to be distributed by Glu will be a game based on forthcoming movie called Hancock. Produced by SPTI, this game will be launched in June. Glu will reportedly distribute some more new versions of the mobile hits, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune which are also produced by Sony.

The development and production will be continued by SPTI, to come up with mobile games with signature Sony Pictures franchises.
