Gionee will be launching a new super slim flagship smartphone at the MWC 2015 and while we know that the handset will be called the Elife S7, there are still no concrete details on it as yet. Well, let’s forget about leaks as official information on the device is now available thanks to China’s certification regulation.
The TENAA website has the Gionee Elife S7 listed which means that the phone is all set to make its debut next month. GizmoChina notes that the device carries the model number GN9006 and it looks the same as the phone which was leaked a few days back. As mentioned above, the upcoming release will continue the super slim trend and this model won’t be as sleek as the Elife S5.1.
And it isn’t going to be 7mm thick as previously assumed, but around 5.5mm. With this waistline, the Gionee smartphone isn’t going to break any records and that’s not going to be an issue since it isn’t part of the company’s goals. Instead, the OEM is looking to deliver a slim profile without too much compromise on hardware.
Within the small form factor, the Elife S7 manages to incorporate a 5.2-inch 1080p display which we’re assuming will be a Super AMOLED panel. Additionally, there will be an 8MP camera on the front and a 13MP shooter on the rear. The processor used here is listed as the 1.7GHz octa core MediaTek MT6752 based on the new 64-bit cores from ARM. Sadly, the internal storage will be at 16GB with no microSD expansion.
Gionee Elife S7 specs roundup:
– Android 4.4.4 KitKat
– 5.1-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel touchscreen

– 8MP front imager, 13MP rear shooter

Based on the information, the Gionee Elife S7 will basically be quite similar to the Elife 5.5, but with slightly better hardware. The company’s press event is scheduled for March 2 which is during the MWC 2015.
