Not quite the thinnest smartphone in the world but very close to the tag, the Gionee Elife S7 seems set to make its debut in India now. April 3 has been finalized as the date on which the Chinese company will launch the said device in the country.
Invites to an unveiling event to be held in Hyderabad are being sent to the press right now (via GSM Arena), and they bear a clear mention of the fact that the Gionee Elife S7 will be star of the show. While we know everything about the smartphone itself, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of a retail value is granted to it by its makers.
When it was first showcased, the Elife S7’s cost in Europe was revealed to be €399 which translates to Rs 26500. If it’s indeed priced around that margin, it will be competing against popular devices like the OnePlus One and the Xiaomi Mi 4 here in India.
This LTE-capable smartphone from Gionee bears on its front a 5.2-inch full HD AMOLED panel. A 64-bit octa core processor from MediaTek fuels its operations, taking assistance from 2GB worth of RAM. While the camera on its rear offers a 13MP sensor, the selfie unit on its front features an 8MP one.
