Gionee W900 is a flip handset carrying two 1080p displays, what’s next?

The Gionee W900 is a surprising device that has just appeared out of nowhere, carrying two displays of 1080p full HD resolution each. What’s more shocking is that these panels are just 4 inches in size which brings their pixel density count up to 550ppi which is more than that of even the Galaxy Note 4 or the LG G3.

And its maker has crammed these screens into a clamshell body to appeal to those who’re fans of flip phones from the era gone by. The high-end Gionee W900 has been spotted while going through TENAA, the Chinese regulatory body for telecommunications equipment certification.

There’s no doubt that it will first be released in China, but we’re not sure about whether it will be making its way into any other country or not. It should be noted that this Gionee phone bears a hefty 14.8mm thickness which as GSM Arena notes, is quite a contrast to the 5.1mm waistline of the company’s other smartphone, the Elife S5.1.

The W900 features the Android 4.4 KitKat OS, and it runs on a 2050mAh battery which is a bit of a concern owing to the fact that it has to power two displays of full HD resolution. Fueled by a 1.5GHz quad core CPU, it gains assistance from 2GB worth of RAM. Equipped with LTE support, this phone will ship with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front one.
