Gionee is looking to reinvent itself at the MWC 2016, debuting its flagship S8 phone and a brand new logo with the tagline Make Smiles. The handset will hit markets by the end of March and is priced at EUR 449 (roughly Rs 34000).
The Gionee S8 has a couple of headline-grabbing features going for it. One is the 3D Touch display the company has equipped it with. It works similarly to Apple’s own pressure sensitive screen, allowing the device to detect 3 different levels of force namely Touch to select, Tap to preview and Press to open an app.
Then there’s the S8’s unique support for Dual WhatsApp and Dual WeChat. This tool lets users log into 2 WhatsApp accounts, a boon for dual-SIM consumers who want to utilize both numbers simultaneously. Another distinctive aspect of the smartphone is its all-metal ‘loop’ design. The style refers to its antenna bands which are placed around the side of the handset.
Check out the specifications of the Gionee S8:

Gionee further guarantees a 40% increase in sensitivity and an 80% drop in noise. The module offers 1080p video recording with advanced audio capture abilities. The latter is made possible due to a 70dB high-sensitivity dual-mic setup and an AKM4961 chipset. Laser autofocus, LED flash and PDAF completes the package.
