Gionee has at long last released the S6 in India, a couple of months after the phone had made its debut in China. The handset is set to retail for Rs 19999 in the country and is already listed on e-commerce site Flipkart.
Gionee is putting a heavy emphasis on the metal unibody design of the S6, which has gone through various processes such as sandblasting and diamond cutting. Its specs reflect its mid-range price, with a 5.5-inch 720p super AMOLED screen and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There’s also an octa-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 processer taking care of operations with the help of a Mali-T720 GPU.
The 4G-ready S6 derives its power from a 3150mAh battery. The unit is supposed to deliver a maximum of 18 hours of talk time and 384 hours of standby time on 3G. In-built ACL technology assists in saving up to 25% of power. With regards to its photography skills, the device houses a 13MP camera accompanied by an aperture of f/2.0, LED flash and PDAF to get focus speeds of 0.1 seconds.
