The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus has finally made its way to India a couple of months after the handset first hit the scene in China last year. The handset is currently up for sale on the brand’s website priced at Rs 26999.
The full-metal Marathon M5 Plus’ claim to fame is its huge 5020mAh battery. Strangely enough, the capacity is 1000mAh lesser than the original version’s 6020mAh. However, Gionee has made some improvements to the unit like optimizing it so it lasts longer and equipping it with fast charging, a useful feature for such a massive powerhouse.
The latter technology apparently ensures that the Gionee phone goes from 0 to 100% within 2 hours. There’s also a new software feature which warns users about apps that consume the maximum amount of battery power. Other major highlights include a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C connectivity.
