Gionee is finally ready to reveal details about its super slim smartphone, the Elife S5.1. And while we were expecting a few tidbits on the dimensions and weight, the company has scooped up a rather detailed list of features that the handset will carry.
The teaser images have been posted on the Chinese OEM’s official Weibo account and one of them states ‘we can tell you more’ which is a direct hit at Apple’s ‘wish we could say more’ iPhone invite. Press shots of the phone in different shades have also been posted, highlighting that the Gionee Elife S5.1 won’t be much different compared to its predecessor.
Well, the phone will be ridiculously thin measuring just 5.15mm and the extra slimness comes at a price. The previous handset featured a 5-inch 1080p display, an octa core processor, 2GB RAM and a 2500mAh battery. These components have been downgraded in the upcoming release.

The Elife S5.1 will instead carry a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 720p HD touchscreen, a 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SOC, 1GB of RAM and a lower capacity cell of 2100mAh. The internal storage remains the same at 16GB and there’s no memory expansion. Additionally, there’s a 5MP front camera, an 8MP rear snapper and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the Amigo 2.0 UX preloaded.
Here’s an overview of the Gionee Elife S5.1 specs:
