Wondering what are the best tech companies this year?
There are 37 companies which have qualified for Technology Ireland Awards 2018. Out of the 37 five companies are battling to be named tech company of the year. The companies who are up for grabs of the main award are Aspire Technologies, Cora Systems, Learnupon, ProVision CameraMatics and TDS (Time Data Security).
This will be the 26th edition of the Annual Technology Ireland Industry Awards. It seeks to celebrate companies which have achieved exceptional success, development, innovated more technology and had a good sale over the past 12 months.
The tech company of the year award is the most coveted award. There were over 60 technology companies and organizations who entered in this year’s awards. However, only 32 managed to make the cut.
Tech companies have been ruling the roost in the last few years, as countries understand just how important technological innovations are to the economy. All About the Event
There are eight categories which are being fought for. The shortlisted entries will have to present to eight independent panels of judges. The judges will comprise of CEOs and founders of successful Irish Tech Companies.
According to Director of Technology Ireland Una Fitzpatrick the companies which made it have shown an outstanding performance over the past twelve months. They were chosen based on factors such as technological innovations, sales achievement, attracting financial investments competitive differentiation and successful partnering.
The Categories to Watch Out For This Year
Some of this year’s categories are Technology Ireland Company of the Year, Technology Services Project of the Year and WomenInTech Company Initiative of the Year.
The WomenIn Tech Company Initiative of the Year Award is a new category which has been initiated this year. It aims to recognize a company which has taken the stand to attract and develop women across the workforce. Women have also had an impact on technology growth in Ireland. Some of the tech companies which are competing in this category include:- DELL EMC Ireland, Sun Life Financial, Cisco Systems Ireland, Fidelity Investments Ireland and Vodafone Ireland.
This category will seek to increase female participation in the technology sector. Women are underrepresented in the technology sector. According to Fitzpatrick the percentage of women in the technology industry is only 19%.
The awards have attracted sponsors who have helped showcase the diversity of the technology sector in Ireland. They include:- Vhi Healthcare, Bank of Ireland, ByrneWallace, Enterprise Ireland, FIT ICT Association Professional, Technology Ireland Software Skillnet, and Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet.
The winners of the award will be announced later on November 23, 2018. It will be a special ceremony held at Mansion House in Dublin. The award ceremony is expected to attract over 500 guests. It will include leading decision makers in the innovation and software industry.
