XFX, the graphics card make from PINE, has announced the availability of the GeForce GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS graphics processing units (GPUs) in India.
The two news GPUS claim to offer new processing power and unmatched levels of graphics realism and special effects.
Sunny Narain, VP-Regional Sales, XFX, Hong Kong, said, “XFX, known by gamers worldwide for its mind-blowing, performance-crushing and competition-obliterating video cards and main boards, as well as its recent collaborations with No. 1 Gamer Fatal1ty, couldn’t be happier to add these two new outstanding GPUs to its already impressive list of gaming components.”
Narain added, “So let’s cut to the chase: Just how fast are these new XFX GPUs? Faster than a dual GeForce 7900 GTX running in SLI mode. Faster, even, than a single GeForce 7950 GX2 card. And, the GeForce 8800 GTX has a 24 pixel per clock ROP. The GTS? A 20 pixel per clock ROP.”
The GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS GPUs are based on the latest GeForce 8 graphics architecture. According to XFX, these new GPUs are the first DirectX 10 compatible GPUs and are the reference GPUs for the DirectX 10 development and certification. Occupying the space of two slots, each of these GPUs uses high-speed GDDR3 memory and is HDCP capable.
The XFX GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS have a fully unified shader core that dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics, or pixel shading operations and unified stream processors that efficiently process geometry shader programs, while reducing dependence on the CPU for geometry processing. The cards feature Nvidia GigaThread technology that supports thousands of independent simultaneous threads for maximum GPU utilization. Shader Model 4.0 enables more complex operations on the GPU and reduces the load and CPU cycles.
With Stream Out programmers can add more detail without having to re-render the entire pipeline and Geometry Shaders permit geometry creation and tessellation for smooth curved surfaces and more lifelike character animation, including more realistic facial expressions and hair.
The new 8800 series XFX graphic cards are available through XFX’s national distributor Rashi Peripherals, at its 47 branches and at select Rashi partners all over India. The suggested end-user price (tax paid) for the XFX GeForce 8800 GTS (model no. – PV-T80G-THF9) is Rs. 34,000 and Rs. 42000 for the GeForce 8800 GTX (model no. – PV-T80F-SHF9) is Rs. 42,000 in India. All XFX graphic cards carry a three-year warranty from Rashi Peripherals.
