After AT&T, T-Mobile has become the second carrier in the US to announce that it will be offering the Moto 360 smartwatch through its retail channels. This doesn’t make any difference to the price or any other factors obviously, but combo deals or some other small offers can be expected to be introduced by these carriers in the future.
Since its introduction, this Android Wear gadget has been selling for $249.99. But AT&T will give you a $50 discount on it if you purchase a Moto X (2014) handset along with it. T-Mobile hasn’t revealed its pricing plans, but such a deal isn’t likely to be offered by the magenta carrier since the said Motorola handset is still to reach its repositories.
The Moto 360 is distinguished by the fact that it houses a round display. It was, in fact, the first mainstream smartwatch to come up with such an idea while others were content with rectangular panels. Seeing its popularity perhaps, LG got into the action and recently introduced the G Watch R which too grabs a circular display.
It is part of the second crop of Android Wear devices that are slated to go head to head during the holiday season. Among them is the Asus ZenWatch which is set to be the cheapest smartwatch among the lot, while there’s even the Sony SmartWatch 3 which is distinguished by the fact that it features its own GPS modem.
Here’s a quick glance at the specs of the Moto 360:
– Display: 1.56-inch LCD, 320 x 290 pixels
– Processor: TI OMAP 3
– OS: Android Wear
– Memory: 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage space
– Battery: 320mAh
– Weight: 49gms
Like we said, November 16 is the date on which T-Mobile will begin offering the Moto 360. On the other hand, AT&T will begin selling it on November 7.
