The all new Logitech UE Air Speaker is kicking in with AirPlay support to accommodate Apple gadgets. The system is built to stream music from iDevices as well as iTunes.
Priced under $400, the speaker flaunts a single piece, portable build with subtle curves accentuating its design. The rear side shows off a piano black finish. It can be used with the home Wi-Fi network to stream content from an iPod touch, an iPhone or an iPad.
“There’s a new breed of music fans whose iPad and iPhone devices are at the center of their listening activities,” commented Rory Dooley, senior vice president of music at Logitech. “We created the Logitech UE Air Speaker to give those people a great audio experience that combines effortless streaming with fantastic sound. With its stylish, modern design, easy setup and excellent sound, the Logitech UE Air Speaker looks and sounds phenomenal in any room in the house.”
Once the preferred gadget is docked in this system, its screen will display a set of instructions. This should lead users to download the Logitech UE Air app and a prompt for the Wi-Fi password will pop up too. The speaker is compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 2nd, 3rd as well as 4th generation, iPad, iPad 2 and new iPad operating on iOS 4.2 or later. Apart from this, it can also be used with any Mac or PC with iTunes 10.1 or higher.
The figure on the Logitech UE Air Speaker price label spells out $399.99. It is expected to begin shipping in the U.S. and various regions of Europe by April this year. Availability in other locations has not been specified.
