It looks like there’s a big market for budget-friendly tablets in India, with the Swipe 3D Life, Float tabX78 and Halo tabX74S marked as the latest to be launched in the country. All three devices run on Android 4.03 and sport 800 x 480p, 7-inch capacitive touchscreens.
Beginning with the 3D Life, the Android slate works on a 1.5GHz A13 Cortex A8 processor and 512MB RAM and offers 3D capabilities. Supporting Wi-Fi and 3G, it’s got a 2MP front-facing camera and expandable internal memory of 4GB. Other key features cover 1080p video accommodation, a 3400mAh battery, an HDMI port, a G-sensor as well as color choices of black and white.
Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe Telecom, explained, “We are glad to introduce cutting-edge products for the Indian market. India is fast approaching the 1 million per anum tablet sales with current size estimated at $ 400 million (Rs. 2200 crore). The market for Tablets is poised to explode to the extent that 1 million tablets that got sold in a year will be sold every month in the next 3-5 years.”
The Float tabX78 is a 295gm device with a sleek 8.5mm profile. It’s 1.5GHz Boxchip A13 CPU is complemented by 512MB RAM and a Mali-400 GPU. If 4GB isn’t enough for hoarding needs, users can always increase the storage space by 8GB or 16GB. Apart from Wi-Fi connectivity, the slab also appears capable of handling a 3G dongle.
Last in line is the Swipe Halo tabX74S ICS tablet with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth as well as SIM card support. It embeds a 2MP main camera and a 1.3MP one on the front for video calling. Packing in more RAM that the other two, the gadget has 1GB RAM lending assistance to its 1.5GHz A10 chip. Color options of black and white, a G-sensor, an HDMI output and 4GB memory are part of the specs sheet.
The Swipe 3D Life, Float tabX78 and Halo tabX74S price tags for India read Rs. 5,999, Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 8,999, respectively. The devices will sell through online portals like Snapdeal, eBay and Flipkart.
