Motorola Motoactv fuses fitness with music

Motorola Motoactv The newest device introduced by Motorola dubbed the Motoactv promises to help users burn those stubborn calories while enjoying their favorite music. The wearable Motorola Motoactv fitness device is integrated with a music player as well as a performance tracker to keep a tab on users’ workout sessions.

The Motorola Motoactv utilizes the AccuSense technology and GPS to take accurate measurements. In order to help users to reach their goals, it gauges time, distance, speed, heart rate and calories burned. This data can then be uploaded on the Motoactv website for performance analysis. The smart music player of this device intelligently plays songs which motivate the wearer and is capable of holding up to 4,000 tracks. It also comes with a built-in FM radio function.

The device can be strapped onto the wrist, clipped onto the outfit or mounted on a bike for convenience. Available in variants of 8GB and 16GB, the Motoactv is fitted with a 1.6-inch color touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass, capable of withstanding rain, sweat and scratches. This lightweight, Bluetooth enabled miniature fitness machine offers a battery life of about 5 hours. Additionally, the app for Motoactv is available for free through the Android Market.

And that’s not all. This fitness gadget is compatible with sports headphones namely, the wireless Motorola SF700 and wired Motorola SF500. Both these durable headphones boast of an interesting acoustic experience in addition to being equipped with heart rate monitors. Besides the Motoactv, these headphones are also compliant with most smartphones, music players, tablets and other devices.

The 8GB and 16GB variants of Motorola Motoactv fitness device are priced at $249 and $299, respectively. It is now up for pre-order and will be available through select retailers starting November 6. It will be launched through Verizon Wireless. The Motorola SF700 and Motorola SF500 sports headphones carry a price tag of $149 and $99, respectively.
